Job Title: Associate Embedded Systems Engineer

Job Summary:

This position will have a significant role in developing and supporting Owl products with our security product landscape.  Successful candidate must have experience with Hardware Development, specifically FPGA development including Verilog code, simulation, synthesis, to running on target hardware platforms.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ability to understand, write, and debug Verilog and VHDL code 
  • Maintain and improve coding standards for the team   
  • Setup product shell separating standard interface logic from differentiated logic  
  • Integrate Logic Modules from team and coordinate nightly builds for testing 
  • Simulate, debug, and fix logic errors 
  • Able to adapt to Xilinx, Intel/Altera, and open source tools and utilities 
  • Ability to use tools to synthesize logic and meet timing requirements 
  • Review system requirements are met in Product Development Plans 
  • Review schematic and layout for PCB design reviews 
  • Ability to set up and use Linux to drive tests at target hardware 
  • Ability to work with customers to understand problems and define solutions 
  • Support the Owl Product Development Life Cycle 
  • Perform Hardware Bring up/ Troubleshoot and execute Test Plans 
  • Track open issues and assist in future release planning 
  • Other duties as management may so direct 

Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Education
  • 0-5 years’ experience 
  • College degree in a relevant field of study. i.e. electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, etc. (advanced degree a plus) 
  • Limited travel may be required 
 Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Experience to set up and debugging system level problems 
  • Experience with Hardware design/development tool stacks 
  • Familiarity with Verilog/VHDL/ other FPGA based languages (e.g. Synthesizable-C) 
  • Knowledge of relevant software/systems as follows: 
  • Unix/Red Hat Enterprise, CentOS Linux  
  • Strong Networking skills (TCP/UDP) 
  • Experience reading and reviewing schematics 
  • Experience with software development and testing 
  • Overall coordination, development and execution of product development 
  • Work effectively within a team environment 
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
Additional Competencies/Requirements
    • Candidates must be able to obtain/maintain a US Government Secret clearance
