FPGA Verification Engineer

Job Summary:

Interested in developing leading edge cyber security solutions to protect cyber assets?  Owl is hiring for a FPGA Verification Engineer. Owl’s Hardware Team is focused on developing high performance security solutions using FPGA and ARM technology for deep packet inspection. We are looking to improve our verification productivity and seek expertise in this area. We are also improving the development build process with CI/CD and are automating the verification into the build process. Development is in small teams that practice the Agile Scrum Methodology to empower the team to build the best products effectively.  Our team is working on multiple programs with large scope, with plenty of room for internal growth, opportunities, and exact positive change within the organization.


This role is centered around our offices in Columbia, MD, Danbury, CT, or Morrisville, NC, where local candidates can enjoy a flexible hybrid work environment. Remote candidates in EST or CST time zones are encouraged to apply, with the opportunity for occasional travel to corporate locations for team collaboration and professional growth.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform FPGA design verification and validation using System Verilog and UVM techniques. 
  • Design and develop UVM test bench System Verilog modules with Xilinx/Altera toolchain.
  • Develop a verification environment utilizing UVM
  • Create Test Benches for communication protocols from specification & requirement documents.

Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, etc. (advanced degree a plus)
 
  • Experience
    • 3+ years in FPGA development with Verification experience
 
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    • Fluent in SystemVerilog hardware description languages
    • Experience with HDL simulation & verification (Cadence Xcelium, Modelsim, QuestaSim, etc.)
    • Experience with Universal Verification Methodology (UVM)
 
  • Additional Competencies/Requirements
    • Work effectively within a team environment
    • Limited travel may be required
 
  • Clearance Requirement
    • Candidates must be able to obtain/maintain a US Government security clearance
