Job Summary:

Owl Cyber Defense is seeking a seasoned, mission-aligned Senior Vice President of Sales to lead our go-to-market strategy across the Department of Defense (DoD), Intelligence Community (IC), and commercial critical infrastructure sectors. This executive will oversee all Sales, Business Development, and Capture functions, guiding top-line revenue performance and long-term customer growth. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in defense and intelligence markets, combined with the agility to expand Owl’s presence in critical infrastructure environments that demand high-assurance cybersecurity solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  • Sales Strategy & Execution
  • Develop and lead a performance-based sales strategy focused on sustainable growth across DoD, IC, and critical infrastructure sectors.
  • Oversee all Sales, Business Development, and Capture functions, ensuring alignment with company goals and market priorities.
  • Deliver predictable pipeline development and accurate forecasting across direct and partner engagements.
  • Team Development & Compensation
  • Build, mentor, and scale a cross-functional go-to-market organization with deep domain expertise and strong customer focus.
  • Design and manage compensation plans that incentivize growth and accountability across all sales roles.
  • Recruit and develop high-performing talent to support an expanding market footprint.
  • Business Development
  • Drive strategic growth initiatives with key U.S. Government customers, including the U.S. Air Force, DARPA, and the Intelligence Community.
  • Identify and shape new market opportunities that align with the company’s secure hardware/software platform capabilities.
  • Lead program pursuits that support product roadmap objectives while creating differentiated market positions.
  • Apply stage-gate and opportunity evaluation processes to prioritize high-value pursuits.
  • Customer & Market Leadership
  • Establish and sustain executive-level relationships across DoD, IC, and commercial critical infrastructure customers.
  • Lead account strategy, pursuit planning, and long-term customer engagement efforts across all segments.
  • Operational Alignment
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Operations to ensure that go-to-market activities reflect customer needs and technical capabilities.
  • Influence strategic decisions on pricing, market positioning, and roadmap prioritization.

Requirements/Qualifications:
 
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, secure systems, or enterprise technology sales, with 7+ years in executive or senior leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated success leading sales of complex, hardware-enabled and software-integrated solutions to technical and executive stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of federal procurement strategies and acquisition vehicles (e.g., OTAs, IDIQs), especially within the Intelligence Community and Department of Defense.
  • Experience managing and scaling Sales, Business Development, and Capture teams.
  • Familiarity with EAR/ITAR, commercial contracting processes, and the regulatory dynamics of security-sensitive industries.
  • Proven ability to attract, grow, and retain top-tier sales talent in a high-growth environment.
  • Active U.S. Government security clearance (Secret minimum) required; TS/SCI strongly preferred.
  • Candidates in the DC Metro area are strongly preferred; East Coast-based candidates will be considered as well.

Preferred/Qualifications:
 
  • Experience expanding secure technology offerings into critical infrastructure sectors such as energy, transportation, or financial services.
  • Understanding of customer funding cycles, competitive bid environments, and end-to-end proposal development.
  • Ability to align program pursuits with long-term product differentiation and market leadership.
