Job Summary
The Principal Product Manager – Critical Infrastructure (PdM) is responsible for the development, management and success of a suite of cybersecurity solutions designed to securely transfer data into and out of critical infrastructure operating facilities. These include financial institutions, power generation and transmission, data centers, telecommunications, oil and gas refining and exploration, pipelines, renewable energy, transportation and others. Owl secures operational data, remote monitoring and remote management of these facilities with technology that has a well-established legacy and heritage in securing government networks, programs and missions; technology proven to be more secure than firewalls.
This is an opportunity to significantly grow a market leading product as part of the overall growth plan at Owl. The PdM will be entrepreneurial in nature, have a drive to grow the business, be excellent in working with sales and business development to understand market opportunities and have a technical background facilitating direct partnership with engineering to define, build and release products.
The ideal candidate will bring prior experience working with critical infrastructure and will understand the market needs for secure data exchange, protocols, remote monitoring and secure remote management. This role will engage with multiple teams to create, manage and drive a go-to-market strategy, while identifying the challenges, requirements, and resources required for success. This person will have the drive, capacity and knowledge to coordinate development programs, build a value proposition, define customer success plans, and develop a reference architecture that showcases the value of our novel solutions
This PdM will act as a thought leader, driving expansion of a product line that leverages data diode technology in operational and enterprise contexts.
The PdM will be responsible for monetizing the market opportunity, defining the ROI and driving growth. They will be responsible for the product strategy, road map, maintaining market differentiation and will manage the development life cycle from inception to launch and provide on-going Subject Matter Expertise support for sales and marketing initiatives. This position requires a strong customer orientation and the ability to think through product scenarios while prioritizing the needs of multiple user-personas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Devise short-term and long-term strategy for development and growth.
  • Work directly with customers to validate requirements and define new solutions.
  • Perform market research and competitive analysis for core product features.
  • Research, design, plan, develop and evaluate advanced network technologies to translate customer requirements and strategic business objectives into final product design.
  • Draft user stories for new product features.
  • Manage product growth & initiate plans to optimize revenue.
  • Work with Sales and Marketing to execute go-to-market strategies and pricing mechanisms to drive business growth.
  • Facilitate development metrics and manage budget.
  • Plan & implement strategies to counter competitive products in the market.
  • Proactively work with Sales, Marketing and Engineering stakeholders to effectively communicate development priorities and release schedules.
  • Prioritize product and platform enhancements based on business objectives and strategic initiatives.
  • Maintain and communicate product roadmap.
  • Document and distribute updates to product functionality.
  • Manage the prioritization and resolution of customer escalation issues.
  • Operate cross-functionally to represent the voice of the customer and collaborate with sales to deliver the optimal system for end user needs.
  • Actively advocate in the market with sales the value of the product solution.
Qualifications
  • 15+ years in technical product development and 5+ years specific to hardware and software Product Management experience.
  • Experience as a Product Manager having delivered product releases on a cadence.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and product development experience.
  • Experience supporting secure systems in regulated or critical infrastructure industries.
  • B.S. degree in a technical discipline preferred, advanced degrees a plus.
  • Applicants must be willing and able to obtain/maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
  • Familiarity with OT/ICS protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC-UA) and secure remote access technologies.
  • Understanding of industry compliance standards such as NERC CIP, NIST 800-82, or IEC 62443 is a plus.

  • Collaborative problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills, with the ability to evolve product strategy based on research, data and industry trends.
  • Very strong presentation, communication (oral and written), interpersonal and organizational skills a must.
  • Current experience supporting the creation of marketing collateral including sales training materials, launch materials, customer presentations.
  • Proven ability to present to senior levels within customer organization and industry analysts.
  • Strong understanding of technology stacks and software/hardware integration.
  • Attention to detail and follow through.
  • Strong visual design and user experience sensibilities.
  • Experience with multiple full project lifecycles, from concept to delivery.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Experience managing vendors.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing several projects at once.
